# User Settings

> Update your profile, change your password, and configure personal preferences from the User Settings menu.

User Settings lets each user manage their own profile and personal preferences. It is individual to each user — changes here do not affect other members of your organisation.

To open User Settings, click your name or avatar in the top-right corner of the navigation bar and select **User settings**.

The dialog has two tabs: **Profile** and **Preferences**.

***

## Profile

The Profile tab lets you update your personal details and change your password.

**Name** — update your first and last name. Click **Save** to apply changes. The Save button is disabled until a change is made.

**Email** — your email address is displayed here but cannot be edited directly. Contact your administrator if your email address needs to change.

### Change password

Click the **Change password** link to expand the password change form. Enter your current password, then your new password twice to confirm. Passwords must:

* Be at least 12 characters long
* Contain at least one uppercase letter
* Contain at least one lowercase letter
* Contain at least one number
* Contain at least one non-alphanumeric character (e.g. `!`, `@`, `#`)

Click **Change password** to save the new password.

## Preferences

The Preferences tab contains personal settings that control how the platform behaves for you.

### Email notifications

Toggle **Product updates** on to receive email notifications about new Go Autonomous features and product releases. Toggle it off to unsubscribe.

### Date format

Choose how dates are displayed across the platform. Options:

| Option | Example |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------ |

Your selection applies immediately and persists across sessions.
